There are 13 real life hours in a game day and they are broken up as follows:
Dawn - 1 Hour
Early Morning, Sunrise - 1 Hour
Mid Morning - 1 Hour
Late Morning - 1 Hour
High Noon - 1 Hour
Afternoon - 1 Hour
Late Afternoon - 1 Hour
Evening - 1 Hour
Late Evening, Sunset - 1 Hour
Twilight - 1 Hour
Night - 1 Hour (Dark, Need Light)
Midnight - 1 Hour (Dark, Need Light)
Before Dawn - 1 Hour Dawn - 1 Hour
To avoid undue hardship but maintain realism, we opted for only 2 hours out of the 13 hour game day that would require light. We opted for 13 hours instead of 12 hours to account for individuals that would log on at the same time every day, and be faced with the possibility of it always being 'night time' when they logged in. In this way, the thirteenth hour ads a randomized element to the passage of game time as it relates to real time.
